By exercising the quasi-judicial powers vested in the Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, grievances of many aggrieved persons withe disabilities, their familiies and NGOs have been redressed. In addition, the Chief Commissioner on his own initiative registered complaints/cases against establishments whose actions were in violation/non-implementation of statutory provisions and adminsitrative arrangements meant for persons with disabilities.
To facilitate the process, the office has developed a comprehensive format of notice to show cause, which gives brief facts, the position of law, the violation committed and also the course of remedial action by the respondent organization.
